Spring Advisor acted as exclusive financial advisor to the State of Finland on a significant transaction that increases the state’s ownership in Fingrid Oyj, Finland’s transmission system operator.
The State will acquire all Fingrid Series A shares held by Ilmarinen Mutual Pension. The transaction strengthens the state’s governance in a strategically critical company at the core of Finland’s electricity system and critical infrastructure.
The purchase price of the shares acquired by the State is approximately EUR 401.3 million. As part of the overall transaction, OP Pohjola Kantaverkko Holding Ky will acquire the Series B shares held by Ilmarinen. The completion of the transaction is conditional upon the approval of a supplementary appropriation by the Parliament of Finland.
