Joona joined Spring’s energy team in June 2025, bringing with him a versatile understanding of the energy sector, economics, and business. His studies in Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) are complemented by two years of prior experience in energy sector management consulting, as well as an in-depth focus on power grid systems through his Master’s thesis. During his management consulting career, Joona has been involved in projects such as M&A due diligence processes and the development of a municipal energy strategy.
Joona is driven above all by curiosity and a broad interest in solving the most challenging business problems companies face. For a few years, his particular passion has been the energy sector and the ongoing transitions shaping it. He draws motivation and energy from working with people, challenging himself, and learning new things. Joona’s work philosophy is to approach every task with the highest standards while maintaining a touch of ease and fun. In his free time, he takes care of his fitness in various ways and enjoys outdoor activities — where a touch of adrenaline is a bonus.
Already before joining Spring, Joona worked in the same field at Afry Management Consulting. During his Master of Science studies focusing in IEM, he also completed a minor in energy technology. Joona gained specific industry experience in the power grid sector through his Master’s Thesis on the cost-causation of transmission pricing. In addition, Joona has experience in market research and sales from working at an AI-focused start-up.
